Sam will present “From Good to Great: Elevating Product Management in the AI Age.” She will discuss what product management is and what makes a great product manager. The talk will cover how product managers contribute to AI product development, different AI types, how to measure success, and a demo on captioning.
Maciej will discuss "Building Non-Static Data Sets in Java." He will address the challenge of avoiding data staleness in fast-paced environments, particularly with evolving machine learning models and LLM architectures. The solution involves storing data in decompiled formats using Java objects, enabling continuous synchronization and format adaptability.
Vladimir will present "Sound Quality Measurement." He will cover the basics of sound perception, the components of an audio communication device, environments for audio testing, and sound quality metrics. The talk will also explore how to automate sound quality assessments.
Ivan will discuss "Topics Categorization Inside the Audio Stream." He will demonstrate how to capture useful keywords from speech or audio streams using Java and Amazon Transcribe. The talk will cover stream capturing with ffmpeg and handling audio recognition and categorization with Netty.
Paweł's presentation is "Evolution of Monitoring Tools at Amazon." He will discuss how investing in monitoring and observability helps on-call engineers quickly address issues, enhances customer experience, and empowers decision-making. The talk will explore how we at Amazon approach monitoring our web applications at different phases of the Software Development Lifecycle.
Rafał will present "On the Edge of Applied Science and Engineering – Amazon Going Through the GenAI Revolution from an SDE Perspective." He will explore the critical collaboration between applied science and engineering in the GenAI revolution, focusing on how engineers turn innovative breakthroughs into scalable, reliable services. Using examples from text-to-speech systems, Rafał will highlight the challenges SDEs face in integrating complex models and ensuring their robustness and continuous improvement.
Marcin will discuss "Usage of Amazon Q in Preparing Interactive Log Data Summaries for an Observability Service." As systems grow in scope and complexity, analyzing a wide range of data sources becomes essential for gaining a comprehensive view of systems and applications. This session will provide an overview of an AI-powered historical log analysis tool designed to enhance observability solutions. Using Amazon Q, the tool enables real-time and historical data analytics, giving developers the tools to monitor services more efficiently and maintain their systems with less effort.
Cezary’s keynote, "Testing Streaming – Who Even Needs That?" offers an in-depth look at how and why streaming is tested at Ring. He highlights both the objective and subjective aspects of ensuring a high-quality user experience. The session covers techniques for assessing streaming performance and reliability, the importance of thorough testing for the business, and a behind-the-scenes look at their automation lab. Cezary will also emphasize the complexities of implementing robust streaming solutions and the custom libraries developed to address these challenges.
Leon will discuss "Using AI to Deliver Better User Outcomes." In his talk, he will introduce his role as Senior Product Manager at Ring, share key facts about the company, and provide insights into the vast amount of video data Ring captures daily. Leon will highlight the history of AI at Ring, focusing on its long-standing expertise in utilizing on-device AI, and how the Amazon cloud enables scale, security, and best practices. He will outline Ring’s customer-first approach to AI, emphasizing continuous improvement and delivering great user experiences.
Andrzej will present "Responsible AI Explained." In this session, he will guide attendees through the journey of implementing responsible AI, from design to deployment. Andrzej will also emphasize the skills needed to integrate responsible AI practices throughout the AI lifecycle. Valeriia will present "Diversity and Inclusion: A Strategic Approach to Career Growth." In her talk, Valeriia will discuss the importance of fostering an inclusive environment that embraces gender diversity and its pivotal role in driving career advancement and professional development. Drawing from her experience leading Amazon Women in Engineering in Gdansk, she will share insights on how initiatives like 'Girls Do Engineering' are inspiring the next generation of women in STEM. Valeriia will also explore the broader impact of diversity and inclusion, highlighting efforts to support underrepresented groups, including LGBTQ+, POC, and individuals with disabilities, through programs like Glamazon and other Resource Groups at Amazon.

Adam’s presentation is “The Performance of Meaning: Breathing Life Into Text.” He will explore how text, while a powerful tool, is brought to life through human interpretation and performance. The talk will cover speech generation, the impact of machine learning and LLMs, and how these technologies are bringing us closer to natural human-machine communication.
Roman Hrytsa, Embedded Software Development Engineer, and Usama Tariq, Embedded Software Development Engineer will jointly present "QEMU and RISC-V: Enabling Efficient Emulation." They will guide the audience through the essential aspects of emulating embedded RISC-V systems on QEMU, covering topics like QEMU's support for RISC-V, emulation techniques, performance considerations, and practical applications. Mikołaj will present "Track Your ML Experiments by Combining the Power of AWS and Open Source Tools." His session will address the complexities of tracking and managing machine learning (ML) workflows. Mikołaj will explore recent advancements in tools like MLFlow, including model lineage tracking, and Amazon SageMaker’s integrations with popular open-source frameworks. He’ll also cover how AWS CDK’s updates support containerized workflows, simplifying ML deployments and ensuring scalability and control across the ML lifecycle.
